I recently have picked up the want to play old school arcade games (such as joust, pac-man, Galaxa {or w.e}.) It started when my uncle who repair these kinds of games decided to give us one. He gave us a game called "Satan's Hollow" and it's really fun.
Who else like these kinds of games?

I remember that my favorite arcade games were Dig Dug, Worm, and another one that I have forgoten the name of, you were a race care and you had to drive around obstacles to avoid other race cars...

Galaxa? Are you sure it's not Galaga? or how about Galaxian?
Anyway... I love classic Arcade games... A good source, If you don't want to pay much is Midway Arcade Treasures on your choice of Xbox, Gamecube, or PS2...
With such classics as
Spy hunter, Marble Madness, Defender, Smash Tv, Toobin, gauntlet, Klax, Joust, Rampart, Satan's Hollow, As mentioned... Vindicators(personal Favorite), Paperboy and several others....

Your right, it is Galaxian (I think)
Spy Hunter is a good one I forgot to mention. But still, I love satan's hollow.

I'm wondering Zwaken, do you mean completely old school games, or even 'modernized' old school games?

I would need an example of a modernized old school game to see what you mean

Like, those new pacman games or revamps of old games with new graphics. Take the Sonic series.

meh, not really. The only thing they did in those new pac man games to keep it "pac man" was the character and the same little dots you eat.
But an example I would call modernized old school would be...DX-BALL. The concept hasn't changed, only the graphics and some others.
And for those who happen to have game-tap, Satan's hollow is on it.

Well, there is a new version (modernized) of Ms. Pac-Man, quest for the golden maze, and many other Pac-man games. Also, one of my all time favourites is the original frogger game. There has been a modernized version of it around for about 5 years+, and that one is very good. Also Dig-Dug has been modernized, and another one of my favourites is Missile Command!:)

This is a pic of the modernized version in its package.

I recently dissected my Grandma's old Windows 98 computer, hardware-wise and software-wise. What I was able to rip off the old C-drive was a bunch of cursors, screen savers, and old Microsoft Arcade games dating back to 1993. I also attached a 12x CD-Drive to my Windows XP to see if it was still operational (and it is). The arcade games are:
Asteroids
Battlezone
Centipede
Missle Command
Tempest
Only if I had Pipe Dream, Chip's Challenge, and other's I don't know the names too (if you post help on where to get any old Microsoft games dating back to the 1990s, no remakes, just the Windows 3.1 version would be nice...)

I like those old games. The really old platform games were probably the best.

If you're good enough, you can actually elude the yeti, but if you go too far, a second yeti just comes along and eats you. =/
Man, now I want to download it and see if I can escape the yeti again!

Most old school games seem more fun than the games now. I think I could play Tetris longer than I could Halo 3.
