Because the majority of these types of questions are actually people with the free version trying to install these. You have to by it first.

Double click it and run the installer, making sure that the location you are installing to is the same as the one that has Pocket Tanks Deluxe, or it won't work.

Well, when you install the weapons, it isn't directly to the folder. It comes with an installer.

Indeed you did, and I emailed you back with the detailed instructions I spoke of. As to what installer...the file you download IS the installer. When you download Pocket Tanks Deluxe, you can't just click and play the game, you have to run the installer. It's the same with the expansion packs. Just download everything to desktop and then double click them, using all the defaults, to install.

- Uninstall Pocket Tanks Deluxe and any of the expansion packs

- Pocket Tanks Deluxe will run, just hit the ESC
key twice to exit to the desktop
- On your desktop there should be a Pocket Tanks Deluxe
icon that you can use to launch the game.

Once that is all working, then install all the expansion packs doing
nearly
the same thing as with Pocket Tanks Deluxe... simply keep hitting the
Yes/Next buttons without changing any of the installer settings.

After the expansions are installed, double-click on the Pocket Tanks
Deluxe
icon on your desktop. On the first screen in the upper left-hand
corner,
you should see a list of all the expansion packs that are currently
installed. To test all the available weapons, simply go to Target
Practice
mode.

Okay...I'm going to answer your questions in reverse order, and here, because I'm not at the office. You don't have to install everything. If you read the parenthetical note, it says you DON'T have to uninstall anything. It is sometimes helpful to start from scratch, especially when you are having trouble with the steps. Second, you wouldn't see the icon in question because you are not following the instructions to install Pocket Tanks Deluxe.

I DONT SEE INSTALLER WIZARD
The installer "wizard" is the program that Windows starts when you open an executable which installs a program. For the final time, the files that you downloaded ARE INSTALLERS. You click twice on the file once it is downloaded, and it opens an installer wizard. That would be the box that pops up when you click twice. Having clicked twice on the icon, continue through the wizard, clicking "Next", which should be in the bottom right corner of the box. You shouldn't really have to change anything, just keep clicking "Next" until the button is "Finish" or something similar. You have just installed a weapon pack. If anything in this post was unclear, I would be happy to attempt to clarify it further.

Those files. If you downloaded them, they are on your computer, probably your desktop, or your documents folder.

Where did you install the Gold Pack? Find it and double click the installer icon. Click Next/Yes without changing anything. Then run Pocket Tanks, and it should have them available. This will work unless there's something really weird, or you moved PT from where ITS installer originally put it (IE: Program Files).

But I just don't get it how can you experience such BIG problems with installing expansion pack, which is very simple to install !?

Because this is a special case and is difficult to solve, (this may be my worst idea) but couldn't Brian just email Lordlactose with PTanks and the gold pack already installed, and tell Lordlactose to put it under Program Files if there is any more trouble? Or perhaps an installer, or a video tour. I'd make a video tour, but I'd rather not let people associate my username with who I really am.

Yeah, when you buy PTanks, you get 60. This isn't an expansion pack. Its built in. What I think you did is press the pay button, did all that stuff, got an email (you should have gotten an email) then downloaded the free version. They aren't the same thing. Actually, the paid folder is called Pocket Tanks Deluxe. The free folder is called Pocket Tanks.

well the pocket tanks management needs to take responsibility for their actions. otherwise its fraud which is a federal offense.

We take responsibility for our actions. We just can't take responsibility for YOUR actions. It is made quite clear on the site and in the game that the shareware version does not support expansion packs, so we are by no means guilty of fraud, and I am rather resentful of the implication.

As I said in my previous email, I would have got to the heart of the situation sooner, but I misunderstood the language you were using to mean that you had purchased Pocket Tanks Deluxe, when in fact you were talking about the Gold Pack. Had I investigated fully when you first emailed me, this probably could have been shortened by a day or two, and I apologize.

As you clearly misunderstood the way our game works, I sent a refund request to BMT (as I explained in my most recent email). I hope this resolves the situation to your satisfaction.

Lactose makes me laugh with his lack of understanding, how could you mistake the gold expansion and the delux version. Even if brian sent it in a email, you should have saw that it was a expansion.
