View Full Version : Am I the only one who bought PT 1.10?

I am at this point, assuming I am the only who has purchased PT 1.10.....as I have yet to see very many others addressing it's incongruities.

One of the most annoying....is playing the same game over, and over again. Yes, the CPU will present the exact same weapon selection for both opponents when the random button is selected, time and time again, ad nauseum.....rotating between several random weapon selection strategies that have already been played several times in a session.

PT 1.10 desperately needs an overhaul in my humble opinion.

Nope. (http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142)

You are not the only one. (http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=866)

A few people have experienced this (as well as other issues related to random number generation). As I stated in the second thread, Mike is aware of the problem people are experiencing, and will be addressing it in the next update.

It should be noted that, by and large, most people who are playing 1.10 do not experience this, but that it does seem to be an issue specifically experienced by players of v1.10, as well as some Mac players.

So, is what you are saying basically: "Sorry for the nasty flaw in PT 1.10....thanks for the $15.99 and we'll catch you the next time around when we ask for another $15.99 for the fix?

Hey, I love PT....but lets face it, one could score a copy of "Gears of War" for that kind of cash.

For the record, I doubt that's what you are saying. :o Surely those of us few victims of the 'flaw' won't be asked to pony up when the fix is in.

...You do know that updates are free if you've bought a previous version, right? I can't remember the address, but you just have to send the name and email you used to order to the techsupport email address and ask for the update...

You don't have to pay for any updates; they are free as long as you paid for the Deluxe version once...

I finnally paid for it after I stole it, but that's in the past I am an official paid owner of Pocket Tanks Deluxe now!

Good to know, WIM....nowadays it gets a bit muddy sometimes to differentiate between 'Upgrade' 'Update' and 'version'.

PT has the makings of a truly Great game....but seems a bit hamstrung by apparently targeting 'well to do executives' rather than covering the wider market it truly deserves.

I mean, come on....has anyone calculated the total cost of the game including all weapon packs? $55.00!

In such light, it just seems reasonable to expect a reasonably well considered gaming experience....all things considered. Nowadays, gaming consumers have learned to be cautiously explorative when considering games for purchase. PT happens to be one of those games that has a strong hook for a uni-dimensional game....and in my opinion, that hook's exploitation is a bit exaggerated as evidenced by the aggregate price.

The secrets and treasures of the game seem a bit too jealously guarded to be of appreciably greater profit to all. The first thing any accomplished game reviewer would pick up on when examining this game, would be the disporportionately high overall price compared to.....well, the majority of the best 3D games on the market.

But hey, who am I to talk.....I guess I'm just jaded because after trying PT version 1.00b, I was hoping to be able to jump on the PT bandwagon with wholesale abandon.

However, after buying version 1.10, the glitches have left a few of us feeling slightly 'abandoned' instead.

Which is to infer that I consider myself sufficiently addicted to hang out and probably stew and whine until the update is released.

PT, I HATE myself for loving you.

Mac users you say... Now I really want 1.1. I've been seeing this a ton. Please, come out with 1.1! Faster I say!

I believe Blitwise does not make the Mac versions. That's at CTP or whatever.

From what I remember, Brian said that they were working on a mac version or something...

No, Zwaken is right. Its a patch handled externally, the only outsourcing PTanks has ever done (smart move, seriously). And to TechStuf, your whole paragraph was meaningless and offtopic. First you start with the randomness issue. Then you jump to the fact Mike W. and company aren't selling it to someone else to put in stores. Then you complain about the cost. May I remind you this game upgrades and is run by only a handful of people, not a whole warehouse. So its worth the price. GoW doesn't upgrade as far as I'm concerned, and can't use expansion packs. Then you say that upgrades, updates and versions are confused.
Upgrades: to replace (a software program) with a more recently released, enhanced version(changed stuff)
Updates: the act or an instance of bringing something up to date(the whole new version)
Version: a particular form or variant of something (fixed glitches, new options, etc.)

The solution to your constipational dilemma, DX is simply to avoid my threads.

May I remind you this game upgrades and is run by only a handful of people, not a whole warehouse. So its worth the price.

You'll make a nice, obedient, organic CPU some day.....but you may have to wait until after your 13th birthday.

My point is, and remains, that one better have his ducks in a row if he or she expects $55.00 for a relatively simple unidimensional game in a market where that much dough can be spun, rolled, or kneaded into obtaining alot more Bang for the Buck.

PT is truly a fun game, but even your nearly ego matching level of youthful, unbridled enthusiasm for it won't change that fact.

Sorry for changing my topic yet again....perhaps if we change it to discussing how smart you think you are for your age, I can avoid withering further under the shadow of your nearly Narnia sized intellect.
