Upon the release of the CD in major stores (eight months hopefully from what I heard), Pocket Tanks toys and trading cards should be available. There would be of course the tank toys, maybe 3 inches. The cards would be like most popular trading card games. Maybe each player takes turns firing weapons, moving, etc. with cards... Hope ya think its a good idea.

Trading Cards would be cool:)
Though merchandise is more for the future success

I'd get them just to see how they're made. Then after a long time they'd become collectibles:)

Yeah, who knows? PTanks cards may be the next Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. There loved by most at first, then it develops and you love it or hate it. Us PTanks members would be top game, plus the cards would attract even more people to the forums as active members and more would know about it than anything. Maybe Mike W. could even make cards for the members as some sort of skill cards, although he couldn't use me. My name is copyrighted ny Kingdom Hearts 2.

Magic is good but I don't like it, and for Yu-gi-oh, I liked it 3 or 4 years ago but now I hate it ! Hehe

@Slade -
Nuke - Throw coin 8 times . Enemy gets 40 damage for every 2nd head that coin flips .
Mega Nuke - Throw coin 6 times . Enemy gets 20 damage for every head that coin flips .

Well, It should be something like this, becuase Nuke is more Powerful than Mega Nuke but has smaller explosion (Chance to hit enemy) .

The only fads I've ever liked were pokemon and crazy bones.

My cards went through the wash :(:(:( I had the best ones (except shining celebe) As for crazy bones, they got lost and pokemon took over.

Yeah, card fads come and go unless they have a strong staple. Most kids below 12 like Yu-Gi-Oh! the show and cards. Trust me. I know. Magic really has no staple but seems to keep people because of its longevity and no corny show. PTanks cards would last cuz' there is no corny show and the game rules. Maybe there could be a ten-volley system and the hit/miss system could be with coins. I could help make the card ideas if any one wanted them. Snowblower would be like: flip 3 coins, each tails your opponent's heads result is rendered useless.

Snowblower - flip a coin. If heads, your opponent loses his next turn and 25 life points. If tails, both you and your opponent draw weapon cards.

I really don't see how the cards game would work out. But I could possibly see a little collectors tank, like on a keychain or something. I know for the new Halo game if you buy the legendary version, you get a little plastic "Master Chief" helmet.

The game probably wouldn't be too hard to learn like the original game.

Once it's out, the people who play it (who want to play it) will adapt anyway.

I guess if there was a card game, you could make up how many volleys you have and whoever has the most points at the end wins.

Slade

Like the people choose: "let us play a quick play game with 10 volleys." Or for longer games/bigger decks, there are normal games with 20 volleys+.

Yeah, that'd be cool. I hope this dream becomes a reality.

I think a the trading card game could be like this:

-each player has 10 tank cards on the field. The tanks have health.
-the player's deck consists of 30 cards called weapon cards. You start off with 5 weapon cards on your first turn
-during the beginning of each turn, a player draws a weapon card from their deck
-during the turn, they may launch up to 3 weapon cards per turn. Each weapon card does "x" amount of health to the tank
-the objective is to kill all 10 tanks first

feel free to alter some of these rules and make it better [like I may suggest cards that can make weapons backfire on your opponent, kinda like a trap]

Eh. Ok. I guess you could do that... If you want. Sure! Agreed... Ya know... That is pretty clever.

Of course they'd use all the weapons...

Woah...I should have paid attention to this thread sooner. First, a little clarification. There are no plans for Pocket Tanks to be available in major stores AT ALL. If it does happen, it probably will not happen for the rest of the calendar year, as we'll be working on other projects, and won't be able to give a retail distribution the attention it would require. There are, of course, numerous tax, legal, and other issues involved, not the least of which is one of volume. How many copies would Target want? Probably more than I can burn on my CD Rom drive in a month. So it would have to be contracted out.

As to a CCG, I wouldn't hold my breath. I really don't think that's the way Mike wants to go with the franchise.

Boring Card *trap card* - your opponent flips a coin. He keeps flipping the coin until Mike makes a card game or 1 card.

Even if there will be a Pocket Tanks trading card game in the future, you just can't beat Pocket Tanks for PC or Mac! :D
