What would we blitters like the most for updates/expansions/options? Something new? Ideas?

Well, terrain expansions are only available in major updates. Plus, that would be only moderately exciting. I enjoy the option to have 200000000++++ weapons at my disposal. However, I would want one "other thing." A Scorched Tanks weapon picking (with the money and stuff) as a mode but also have 1P, 2P, TagTeam (hopefully), Practice, etc.

1 player, 2 player, and 3 player options. With three players ten more weapons added to the selections list.

Well... yeah, new options would be awesome, but still, the weapons get my vote ...

Yeah weapons!!!! Well, only because Blitwise won't need to release a new version for land expansions...

I understand that terrain need an engine upgrade but I still would love some object on the terrain like worms, you know mines and explosive barrels.

Yea, like pre-loaded mines and chain reactions if exploded or touched (kinda like worms...)

But that would be worms, If we want objects on terrain, then we should think about new ones . ;)

Like booster spaces that randomly launch your tank somewhere. Or instead of mines, spaces with perpetual small damage napalm...OH! Or little ponds/lakes/OCEANS!:):):):D

Oh now! Land and Weapons are tied! Why would you do such a thing!!!!! Well, land may be good but that would sap simplicity straight from PTanks like a dry sponge over water.

Options. The more the better. That's my opinion...
Slade

When I was thinking about options, I thought, "Hey, it would be cool if we had other options in the game like changeable backgrounds/and music (not that the game's present music is any bad...) or something more...

terrain building in front of you.
maybe water would be interesting (not really tho)
but weapons packs are the hardest, because u need to think of ideas, rather than re-vamped repeats...

Terrain is hard too. You have to design the whole area. Pixel-by-pixel.

But if you use the bucket, you can fill int spaces in no time:)

Dude, do you even look at the ground? Its not only 3 colors. There are lines, textures, all kinds of things. Its hard. Enjoyable in the end, but hard.
Slade

Then with the lines and textures, you fill in the 'most commen' blanks 1 by three.
blue_moon
03-09-2007, 10:08 PM
So you are saying to fill the most common blanks? I tried:

Ah... My point has sunk in... Yeah, before making video games I thought:
"okay, when a video game is made, lots of people brainstorm ideas, tell the game what the main charatcer is, his weapons and what they look like, the enemies, the computer makes the pictures, etc." Being a decent pixel artist I realized how difficult this is. Plus, with the oceans and castles and such you guys want, Mike'll be spending half his life making 15 of these. Land would be my vote if it wasn't for this single factor. If Mike let us make them like Super Dx- Ball boards, it might be a good idea.

Yeah, It would be good if we had a terrain editor .
(I think we should tell Brian about this, but probably...)

Or like RCT2! A "Terrain Editor" button at the start menu.

and any land which is unsupported will automatically be turned into tunnel/digger land...
Slade
03-13-2007, 02:52 PM
Oh, yeah... I see your point. Though in the terrain editor, we could have a choice of what rules to apply to the created land (ex: 'Digger land' or 'gravity land'?)

@Demyx - But probably not ...
@str1ker - No, It should not be as worms, becuase this is Pocket Tanks, not worms .
And yeah, that's good idea str1ker .

Worms often a base for many suggestions here.

Sad but true .
People do mix those two games up.
But for me, they're two very different games (but not totaly different) .

Well, I have played worms, but it was a demo only. And as soon as I heard about RCT2, I switched. I had recieved a pirated version from my friends but I didn't want to load a pirated cd onto my computer; thus began my gaming life.

My suggestions:
- Weapons Depot could used a "quick shuffle" button, just in case you don't like the current selections and would like to try again for something else. I would REALLY like this feature.
- Increase rounds from 10 to 20. More time to use more weapons would be great.
- Increase the number of moves from 4 to 10. More are needed to tunnel around and do sneaky things. With more moves, you could dig, move a few spaces, then use Tractor Beam to pull you up through the ground, then dig some more and move again.
- Eliminate the animated screens. Watching the letters swoop in one by one is cool and everything, but is an unnecessary time-waster when wanting to just play. Maybe hitting ESC could bypass the animation and just put the screen up.

Wow! Those ideas are great ones:):)
I like #1 the best; it would be really useful for those 'boring' selections.
#2 I suggest should be an option in 'MODE PLAY' where you can switch the current settings to a 'MODE'. Modes have different settings and challenges and different selections for weapons.
#3, in a different mode I'd say yes, otherwise I would use them only for strategy. In adventure mode, for example, I'd up the moves to 15 or even more so.
#4 many people would like the animations to stop. Because Mike made those as part of the game itself, I suggest instead as a minor add-on that in an update he should make it so that all animations happen at the same time and move 3 times the speed. They're not as slow now and they're still there;)

Thanks. One more suggestion that I e-mailed Blitwise about a few months ago:
I used to enjoy just being able to hit ESC a couple of times to completely end and exit the game. The 1.1 version made that impossible by putting a prompt to confirm "yes" or "no." While it was explained in a response from the guys, and will likely remain, I would request that something be done to have the prompt at least default to "yes" so I can just hit ENTER to get out. As it stands, I have to hit ESC, then move the mouse over to the appropriate button.
I've always hated those confirmation screens. I mean, really, how many times do you hit the ESC key and NOT actually want to quit? :) Just nitpicking on that one, but it does prevent me from playing it more at work, in case the boss suddenly walks in (which might be a good thing...)

Occasionally, someting will fall on the keyboard and force you to get out. I really like the idea of shuffle, but it should only be able to be used once, or that would be cheap. I also think it would be good to pick the number of volleys, but Blitwise would have to find a way to gram all those icons and names in that 1 box.

If you want to quit immediately, that'll do it.

I wouldn't really make it a 'one time' reshuffle option. Unlimited reshuffles are better.
A 'volley counter' option would be neat. Max of 30 would be cool.

Like I said, a shuffle button that could be used more than once or twice would be allowing the players to actually pick which weapons they want out of all of the ones they have, one player may have superstars and mass drivers while the other decides to get tractor beams, saucer attacks and mudpies. Also, think of how HARD it would be to fit the weapon names and icons for 30 volleys in the weapon shop screen. Thats 60 weapons with their names. The only way I see that Blitwise could do that is by implying some sort of method in which they pick weapons every 10 volleys.
Slade

They obviously wouldn't keep the same format, they would change the screens for 20 + weapons for 30 volleys.
As for the reshuffle button, the player who picks first CHOOSES when to stop reshuffling till he finds the weapon list to HIS liking.

So the shuffler has to be male? Thats kind of... weird. lol. Yeah, maybe putting it that way may be good, each player could be able to reshuffle on their first pick. Also, it would be hard to put 60 weapons and names onto one screen, even without the boxes.

Since I generally play against the CPU, the shuffle doesn't really matter to the computer, so perhaps only have the shuffle available when set to play the CPU.
I hadn't considered the two player element. It could present a problem...
blue moon is kinda right. with land, it kinda dries up quickly seeming as there aren't much types. but weapons are unlimited (unless ones imagination is as small as the frickin' lollipop guild). options are a good idea too. go to the 32 page in weapon suggestion thread, and you can see my idea for an option called night (i didn't know about this place at first) which would make everything pitch black except for two little orbs of light around the two tanks. it makes the game more chanllenging. with the shuffler too, the amount should not be unlimited. that's just downright cheap. but it shouldn't have to be 1. one would be...keeping back ones hope, you could say. i would go for mabey 3 tries. after that, too bad. and both people should have a choice of if they want to shuffle. like say...say a mass driver, flying saucer, fireball, nuke, nuke, mega nuke, roman candles, and then some others popped up. now, pretend somebody was just Hoping some other things would pop up, but somebody else wanted to keep that lineup, but they were player 2. no, there should be some type of compensation thing that needed both players approval to shuffle.
