Today, I will be writing a huge list which consists of :
1. Weapons
2. Spells
3. Upgrades
4. Games
5. Game Types
First off, I will start with weapons. When choosing the best weapons of all time, we had to draw the line between Weapons and Powerups. Meaning, flaming fireballs and magical spells, are out. But blowing things up, is definatly in. With every game having a good weapon, its not an easy task to pick the top ten weapons.
#10. Cerebral Bore : Turok Series. Being at #10 , this weapon can do alot of damage. And alot of damage, is what the Cerebral can really do. This weapon uses a homing "saw like" object to attack to the enemies head and drill threw his Cerebral ( Wonder where they got the weapons name from :anirolleyes: ) Finally, it sends their brain matter scattering all over the place, making a blood pool around the area. It's low on the list because of its long reload time but many weapons draw players to being their favourite weapon.
#9. Chainsaw : Doom Series. It's appearence is in a lot of games and players have loves every minute of it. Not seen until later in the game, the chainsaw added alot more fun to the game. It's a valuable tool to kamakazie players with low-health. The weapon has spread through the industry ever since.
#8. Spread Gun : Contra Series. Contra, defined 2D shooting and this is the series's best weapon. The spread gun allows you to own any enemies in your path, high or low. Aside from the 30 life code, it's a Contra players best friend. When that familliar "S" icon comes a floating by, you know that you'll be moawing down anything and anyone in your path.
#7 Rail Gun : Quake 2 & 3 & 4. When it was introduced in Quake 2, it was the weapon of choice for all Quakers, even beating the all might Rocket Launcher. The rail gun is any players dream weapon as it can take out a target at close up or long distance range with a one shot kill. All though the reload time isn't well put, in the right hands it can be a lethal weapon.
#6 Energy Sword : Halo Series. This awesome weapon slices the theory "Never bring a knife to a gun fight." to shreds. After battling enemies that wielded it in Halo 1, Bungie decided to put it into Action with non-AI players in Halo 2. Taking the idea of the chainsaw to high levels. Players online will whine in its cheating, but only when THEY'RE the ones who are killed.
#5 Arctic Warfare Magnum : Counter-Strike Series. This gun was first seen in the the beta version, of what now is one of the most popular Action games in the world, Counter-Strike 1.3. This weapon was considered a "n00bie" weapon because of its 1 shot kill ability if shot in the right area. This weapon has been considered the #1 most powerful weapon in any FPS series. Counter-Strike fans have made maps which shrine this all powerful weapon. Since it's arrival in the Counter-Strike series, this weapon is used everyday, every night, every game in every server in the Counter-Strike community.
#4 Bio Force Gun : Doom Series. One of the most powerful guns every discovered, this ultimate laser bazooka litterally takes up the whole screen with its bright cannon blast and the games which came to use this weapon, the term BFG always came to represent this one gun from the Doom Series and the one piece of weaponary you couldn't wait to get your hands on.
#3 Red Turtle Shell : Mario Cart Series. When you're four wheeling through the Mushroom Kingdom, nothing makes you more happy then recieving one, or maybe three of these turtle shells. Due to their ease of use and 100% accuracy range. The strategy to either keep the weapon or use it, is always a chance to take within the game.
#2 Mega Nuke : Pocket Tank Series. This one of a kind weapon is one of my favourite weapons within , from what I think, 200 weapons ( including expansions ) of the game. This weapon causes a lot of damage and creates a catastraphic explosion making the eposing player fly around in his tank. This weapon is always taken by a bot and should be amplified to do more damage, and do more explosion to the scenery.
#1 Gravity Gun : Half-Life 2. This weapon was chosen because it outlaws the rule that weapons with ammunition beat those without. For this weapon, anything can be ammunition. Furniture, buckets, steel grates, humans, you name it. This weapon changes how games can be systematicly played like figuring out puzzles and playing on Valves physics code. If everygame had a weapon like this , you'd see the genre between games , collide.
