hmm... I've been looking for this for a while now... and all of the sudden it's up... And the game is rather umm... Pretty....

I like the smoke trails... and it has 91 weapons... Not that they make much sense... I mean the goundhog makes a small dirt clod... I think it was called Ground hog... I'll check again later... The tanks blend into the environment too much... Atleast in windowed mode... playing in 640x480 on 1280x960 is odd but that was my choice mostly for testing purposes...

This is also the first game I've encountered that uses Enter to fire by default rather than spacebar....:eek:

Calm yourself... first of all... the game is very well done... Second, there's 30 or 40 of these games out there... It's what we call an Artillery game... Popularized by Tank Wars and Scorched Earth back in the DOS days... Fun times... Btw.. Custer's Revenge is the worst game ever...

Well there are a lot more than the number you mentioned. There are Fortress(by koreans) and GunBound(also by koreans) and worms(do I need to mention?). But among all (for the version of Fortress, III), there are a lot of professional work and you must admit that some of those are better than pocket tanks in some ways. Yet there is no perfect existing! Artillery game is a very big idea about these games. But there are difference in: Game mode(high score? Shoot you until you die?), weapon system(different tank? buy weapons? choose weapons?), movement system(how many MP per turn? move for n times per game?), assistant items(can use one item per turn? use them and lose abality to shoot like AtomicCannon?), tag-abality?... Different Combinations make different artillery games. There is no best, either. It all depends on which of the features you are looking at. But--- Admit that pocket tanks is fun---from its simplicity! (author:Neko)

Atomic cannon has many "Similar, just more powerful" weapons. Is there any difference between a "Rocket" and a "Shell" or a "Railgun"? DOT is also a bad idea because it makes stalling rules. I don't like this game... But in one way I liked it. Fire the ultimate nuke at someone. Maybe this can be the only fun... Also the rating changes as the person who rates changes. Just my idea.

I've never played atomic tank...The only other artilery games I've played we're worms armageddon (it's ok but nothing compared to Ptanks) and Territory wars (it's kinda like worms but it's free and there's a campaign mode if I remember correctly) POCKET TANKS RULES ALL!

I don't see how everybody thinks that worms are pure artillery games. Sure, a lot of weapons have a ballistic arc, but tons of them also do not. With things like airstrikes, baseball bats, dynamite and the like, I would rather classify worms as a strategy game with some artillery influences rather than as simply an artillery game.
