Descent 3

I have always liked the Descent series. My newest games in the descent series is Descent 3. does anyone have something to say about Descent 3?

IMHO, Descent 3 was disappointing compared to Descent 1/2. Still worth playing, though. I've always like the first Descent the most - I dislike the concept of a guidebot, and having levels huge enough to require one.

Yes, Descent 1 was definately the best. Had the best soundtrack too. I played it on the mac. I used to play it all the time, along with some other mac favorites like "Shadow Wraith" - a pretty much unknown title.

I never played it, but after looking it up on Wikipedia I think that it looks a lot like a MechWarrior game...

The Descent series was awesome, and I agree the original was the best. Shame that it got rather overlooked by the press at the time. I can remember a similar game, though without the nausea-inducing 3D levels, called Radix: Beyond the Void (http://www.extendedreality.com/radix_info.html), though I only ever played the shareware version of it.

But yeah... Descent 1... I remember racking up huge phone bills over weekends by playing it multiplayer with a 28.8 modem using Kali... *gazes off into another place, all misty-eyed*... ahh, great times :)

The Descent 1/2 source code was released a while back. As a result, a few projects have sprung up to allow the playing of Descent on modern computers and to optionally improve on the graphics a bit. I haven't tried either of these two, but I've heard they do an excellent job.

It is an extensive "mod" sort of thing for Decent 3. :) It changes some of the weapons and graphics and such.

Thanks, i've been doing alot of stuff also have been trying other things. Anyway the second descent...last boss = Impossible with out cheats...I mean come on hes invisible he can teleport and he has unlimited shaker missiles.
