Yeah! After being guided through it, and some experimentation of my own, Ie installed, and have fully working, Ubuntu Edgy Eft. Itīs got some major advantages, actually.
Ubuntu is great. While I'm personally more of a Slackware guy, I gotta give the Ubuntu folks credit for making a excellent, easy to use distribution.

Lessee.
Total customization of the interface. Y'wanna change something? Change it.
Cross-platform support. Mac programs [some] run in it, Windows programs run in it, plus, it has lots of exclusive things.
Smaller, and faster. The OS itself is barely 2 gigs. Windows, at least what I have, is 3. Ubuntu organizes files better. It defrags in, literally, 30 seconds. And needs a lot less space to run well. My windows partition is ~14 gigs, Linux is ~7.
Programs are updated constantly. I log in, each day, and it automatically tells me that X number of applications have updated out. X is generally larger than 25.
Was It Me?

Appending to your list, Grif392 (if you don't mind ;)):
Linux distributions are normally free, as are many Linux software packages. Linux is quite stable. Linux is Open Source, meaning if you want to add a feature to the actual operating system, and have some programming experience, go right ahead and try. (Try getting the Windows source code from Microsoft. ;)) There are also some advantages to programming for Linux, but I won't get into those. :P
