View Full Version : BlitNet (Online Blitwise)
ok, so i was thinking during church yesterday:
"what if blitwise had a system like WoW?"
(that is, you log in via the game to play, but to manage your account, you log into the website)
this is what i came up with...
(btw, these were all drawn BY HAND!!!!!!!)

forgot to add: the user status shows who is logged in the game, not logged into blitnet.

I love it.
Heh, I like how the title theme for the Game Boy camera was playing when I got here. Fits.

Once this game goes fully online, not only would this better incredibly cool but it could also be used to deter people from pirating the game. I really don't feel like posting how, however.
i know you love it. you CAN'T not love it.
EDIT: plz, i actually would like to know how this would deter people.

PM it to him. Best not to announce it.
Much better demonstration of concept than our chat, ekoz.
(That is, rather than just mentioning the name.)

Well, if an account on this site was required to play online, and an account was created for everyone who buys the game at the time of purchasing... People would have more reason to buy the game if online play couldn't simply be downloaded or cracked.
EDIT: Wait, what? Samail and I posted almost simultaneously while I was having trouble formulating my two sentences above.

I was going to nazi that one but was sidetracked.
What if they don't have the internetz?
Then they won't be able to order the game in the first place.
sorry, my fault, not added to my post.
and yeah, they cant get the game, then, if they dont have interwebz.

What if they don't have the internetz?
Well, playing on the internet won't necessarily be much of concern to them.

Would this be hard to program?

That's the $500,000 question.
Could use the creator's thoughts on this.

Hello i'm new, and I really like this idea!
thanks.
btw, this is all advanced programming, i know, but it's mainly fields that simply pull information from a server that holds user stats. if Ben (BlitWise's web programmer) can't program this, i'm sure someone can be hired to do it...

it could be like a instant messager too... that would be cool!
you could arrange battles and stuff! :)

Blitnet, sounds nice. I guess that would be a lot of work with programming because of the security holes and things, but it could, as blue_moon mentioned before, indeed deter people from pirating software.
