How do you use an animated .gif image as an avatar?
I tried copying the url into the avatar box on the user cp but that doesn't seem to work.

Try saving the picture to your computer first, then put it in your "User CP".

You used the "external link" option, right? That's strange; both options should work, but the external link one would be more likely to work, if anything. Anything unusual about the GIF?

Strange; It shouldn't take any more effort than simply using the Choose File button...

Well I saved the image myself and it doesn't animate, so I'd say something is wrong with it.

A lot of forums are too strict on the "spammed signatures" thing. As long as it's not obnoxious, I don't see what's wrong with a little art linking to a site you like.

Yeah I always have links to a site I like in my forum signatures

But this forum is waaayyyyy too strict on allowed signature image sizes. I don't mean pixelage, but the file size limitations are way too harsh here.

i just changed it so it actually links to blitwise. next up, new avatar. nfs logo got old too fast.

Pick an avatar that you really like. That way you don't have to change it so often.
