View Full Version : Yoyo's Magic Not Puzzle Circle

I picked up my brother's old yoyo a few days ago, and started to mess with it. Now, I'm already ordering a better yoyo online. I think that it's a really fun hobby, not too hard to start doing, yet a lot of different tricks you can learn.
Anyone else like to play with yoyos?

It took me at least 10 years to get it to come back up...

I still have not achieved that level of awesomeness. You are now my new god.

This is kind of late but this thread doesn't really belong here. It would probably go in the General Talk subforum like Samail's Rubix Cube thread.
I never really got interested in yo-yos. I always modified mine to automatically retract. Later in life I tried to do it the real way and like Samail, it took me 10 years.

Rubix cubes, eh? Must be one of those Chinese knockoff brands.
...I don't think there exists an single yo-yo in this house.
*thinks*
Nope. Don't think so.
hey, at least you can say you used to have a portal to hell in your house. i'm pretty sure that counts for something.

Rubix, Rubik's, what's the difference?
The difference is, Mr. Rubik designed the original idea, then some Chinese people stole his idea.

Yes, I did just rip that title off of Samail's thread. And no, I am not making fun of it.
So who likes yoyos? Right now I'm using a Duncan Dragonfly, but I'll probably get a Metal Zero soon.

That's the Dragonfly. (Those cork pads help with responsiveness, although mine are kind of wearing out.)

That's the Metal Zero. It's about $40, which is quite a bit saying that the Dragonfly was $10-ish. I think it will be a worthy investment though, it just looks so beautiful.

So we'll continue the discussion from here (http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4259), then.
The Metal Zero sure looks awesome.
Wonder what makes it better.
Yoyos have always been a very sporadic thing for me. I'll go watch a few YouTube videos of yoyo professionals (an odd job title), get excited, dig out my old yoyo and suddenly remember I can't do any of that stuff.
Looks neat, though.

I love watching yoyo masters, their tricks are completely insane.

I changed my mind from the Metal Zero to the Reactor. It's cheaper and has better ratings.
http://store.customproducts.us/images/product/large/lg_103.jpg
It doesn't look as nice, but according to reviews, it's more responsive, and has longer sleep times than the Metal Zero. It's also a slightly smaller yoyo, and I haven't used a smaller sized yoyo before, so I'm curious. Some say it feels better in your hand than a larger yoyo. It's 2" in diameter.
This one is about $25.
As far as my skill goes, I can do all of the basic tricks (walk the dog, rock the baby, ect.) Along with some intermediate tricks (Double or nothing, Split the atom, Mach 5, ect.) I haven't learned any really insane tricks yet, but I'm slowly getting better and expanding my library of tricks.
@Samail: Oops, didn't realize I've already made a thread on it. No big deal.

I'll make a video once I get a new yoyo or I'm at my mom's because I'm at my dad's for like a week, and I left my yoyo at my mom's. I'll probably get a yoyo before the monday after this one.

I'm not sure if its just the shock and happiness of having a rep system, but I'm not sure if we should make threads, then make 10 or so posts about what kind of rep we are giving each other.
