I like this game:
CANYON DEFENCE (http://www.miniclip.com/games/canyon-defense/pl)
This game has some similarities with PT I think so. It would have weapons pack in the future like in PT. Guys, what's your opinion?

BTW: do you know some related games?

That link isn't working, Adder. Just to let you know.

Or, at least, it's not working for me.

But, I've played that game before. It was a while ago but, I believe I was able to beat all of them except the last map on hard.

Not like Pocket Tanks to me. No replay value after you pretty much beat the whole thing.

Ok, I fixed broken link. Sorry for mistake.

It similiar to PT for me with regard to a few kinds of weapons. It's small game but gives me pleasure :)

There are so many games just like it.

Once you beat Canyon Defense you can move on to the next one of it's kind.

I think that's why so many of them exist. Because it's a good kind of game but, you always need something new for it to want to be played over and over again.

I know a similar game to PT, its called Tanks..

Which came first? The Chicken or the Egg? In this case PT or Tanks.

I don't care which came first PT is better, Tanks doesn't have any really cool weapons as far as I know.

Atomic Cannon has been around for many years. It looks great in screenshots, but it feels a little redundant in it's weapons and effects. iShoot on the iPhone has the same issue, and nearly the same look. (edit: funny that, you could say that iShoot is a really close clone of PDA Pocket PC version of Atomic Cannon)

Tower Defense games are all the rage, and Desktop Defense I believe started them all. It's too bad that Desktop Defense set the trend that all tower defense games ought to be free web games. I would love to write a really good one, but there are a ton of game coders already on the job.

That certainly is a problem. Not only do the games have to be free, but they have to be able to compete. And competing with something like DTD (Desktop Defense) is quite hard to do, 'specially when they already have a multiplayer mode out.

Regardless, I would buy a Blitwasian TD if it was made with the typical Blitwise feel I have come to know and love.

That's always a possibility. I feel the same way about other folks games... just make stuff and I'll buy it.

Such as:
Anthony Flack (Platupus)
Jamie Woodhouse (Quak)
Iain McLeod (Sphere's of Chaos)
Mark Sibley (Blitz Basic)
Jens Schönfeld (Individual Computers)
etc...

Milage may vary based on your personal interest, but these folks are doing things that need to be supported. :)

see, the major thing about every TD game is that they have, like, 8 towers.

it's the same thing with all online free tank games. 8- weapons, and they stop.

that's the magical thing about blitwise - you expand.

see, if there was a blit-TD, you could make expansions with new maps (standard), new towers (maybe 2-tower packs every half a year. TOO many gets to be a little rediculous.) and even maybe new abilities!

like, fusing. ever seen a TD game where you could fuse two towers into one, with the mixed abilities of both? like, a fuse splash cannon and a homing rocket cannon to create a cannon that launches homing rockets that balst into shrapnel?

i haven't seen an ability like that. see, that's the awesome thing about blitwise. and that's also why i don't play those other tank games.

HHAAH!!

I just got addicted to that game MeVII. Thanks for mentioning it.

I'll beat it soon and then I'm sure I won't ever play it again after that though.

It's really fun but, I just don't see replay value in games like this.

Like I said, it's no wonder so many people continue to make new ones all the time.

OMG I got bored of the Mushroom game.

I went on a search and found something new.

I found...

SOLAR CHIEFS!!!

Very cool artillery game. I'm actually kind of liking it more than Pocket Tanks. IT"S ONLINE!!!

Here it is if you are interested - http://www.kongregate.com/games/Mygame/solar-chiefs

Very nice, you see me and exit.

I would like a game... As an intro of course.

LOLOL!!

I did see you, th155.

But I saw you only after I had already hit the exit.

My bad. But we still got to play after anyways.

This game is far more difficult than Pocket Tanks though. I'm actually losing.

Although I still have a higher win to lose ratio.

I think they would gain instant replayability if they followed some of the same gameing methods used by other genres.
Like A. Being able to play as different factions with different abilities.
B. Paths that are generated randomly instead of fixed.
C. Having some kind of "main character" that influence s the game, that can level up different ways.
D. Human vrs Human play.

I was impressed with the mushroom games expansion of elements to modify the towers, the addition of artifacts to use and the addition of skills to buy inbetween levels. Using that as a foundation to add the above concepts could feasibly make a great game.
