I decided to make a beta version of rules for Pocket Tanks tournament. By following this rules, all troubles will be avoided (i think).

So here they are:

1. This rules should me applied to all tournaments.

2. Game options that are predefined for tournament should not be changed. If it says no wind, we play the tournament without wind, if the turret must be absolute, the turret will be absolute etc.

3. All time zones should be visible in the bracket.

4. When the player signs up for the tournament, he should be active on the forum until the tournament starts, and during the tournament. By active, I mean that all players should follow the tournament thread.

5. When server names and passwords are sent via PM, all players should join the server. If the player doesn't log in the server in (let's say) five days, he's disqualified.

6. The tournament should start five days after all players accepted the PM containing name and password to the server.

7. The players that are paired up in the bracket, should make a deal when will they have a match. When they decide, they should post the date and time of match on the tournament thread.

8. If one player shows up in designated time, and the other one doesn't, the player that didn't show up is disqualified after he confirms that he didn't show up.

9. Players that are battling should play more than one match. They should play on 2/3 or 3/5. That way we will really see who deserves to go to the nest round.

10. In the case the match ends with tie, players should play another game. The tie doesn't count.

11. At the end of the match, players should take screen caps. The should do that for all matches. When they do, they designate who is going to post the pictures on the forum. Pictures should be posted in the tournament thread.

That's all for now.

I used "should" instead of "must" cause this is open for discussion.

You can add more rules or disagree on current ones. :)

1. This rules should me applied to all tournaments.
Disagree.Every tournament host will have the option to make his own rules. Maybe somebody has a better way to conduct tournaments, so we don't want to force these on everyone. Though we can establish these as a standard protocol which a tournament host can refer to instead of typing all of this again in his tournament thread.

2. Game options that are predefined for tournament should not be changed. If it says no wind, we play the tournament without wind, if the turret must be absolute, the turret will be absolute etc.
Disagree. The game rules are the default options; these can be followed if there's a disagreement on any on of them. If both the players want to play with wind, they can. But even if one of them doesn't want wind, they'll have to follow the rules specified by the host.

3. All time zones should be visible in the bracket.
Agreed.Certainly helps in better coordination and I believe that this hardly interferes with someone's privacy.

4. When the player signs up for the tournament, he should be active on the forum until the tournament starts, and during the tournament. By active, I mean that all players should follow the tournament thread.Agreed.We certainly don't want newbies joining the forum to just join the tournament and then never responding.

5. When server names and passwords are sent via PM, all players should join the server. If the player doesn't log in the server in (let's say) five days, he's disqualified.
Agreed. If a person can't join the server in 5 days, he certainly not interested.

6. The tournament should start five days after all players accepted the PM containing name and password to the server.
Agreed. The tournament should start within 5 days.

7. The players that are paired up in the bracket, should make a deal when will they have a match. When they decide, they should post the date and time of match on the tournament thread.
Disagree.Fixing a specific time reduces flexibility. Players should be able to schedule their matches over a longer period of time.

8. If one player shows up in designated time, and the other one doesn't, the player that didn't show up is disqualified after he confirms that he didn't show up.
Disagree. As I said before, fixing just one specific time isn't a good idea. It isn't very uncommon for someone to miss the appointed time. There should be more flexibility. Players can have their match whenever they want to; but it should be before the starting of the next round. Players will be given a max. of 5-7 days for each round.

In case someone is not responding, the other player can just post it in the tournament thread and after the round is over, the other player will be disqualified.

9. Players that are battling should play more than one match. They should play on 2/3 or 3/5. That way we will really see who deserves to go to the next round.
Agreed.

10. In the case the match ends with tie, players should play another game. The tie doesn't count.
Agreed.btw, what are the chances of a match ending with a tie?

11. At the end of the match, players should take screen caps. The should do that for all matches. When they do, they designate who is going to post the pictures on the forum. Pictures should be posted in the tournament thread.
Agreed.Infact, both the players should take a screen-shot so as to confirm that they didn't lose sync in between. However, any one of them can post it.

I pretty much agree with all of what prateek has said here.

By the way, are you a schizophrenic or something, prateek?

Go change that poll you made and use the brain and personality that you used to comment on this thread.

It's like you are two different people. One of you is stupid and the other is quite the intellect.
