Have any video games, movies, or TV shows ever had sad parts that made you cry? Chances are, yes. Describe your scenarios of sadness with virtual media here. You can also talk about things that made you laugh so hard you cried, too, if you want.

Some people cry at everything. Some people don't cry at things at all, and a few call people "wimps." I generally don't cry at things or consider myself a "wimp," but these things brought tears to my eyes (mostly deaths):

Video games:

Final Fantasy 7 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_fantasy_7)
- when Aeris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerith_Gainsborough) died. It's about the saddest moment ever in a game, that I can think of (at least if it's measured by how many people were depressed by it).

Final Fantasy X (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_fantasy_x)
- At the end, when Tidus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidus) disappears. I didn't like the whole story that much, but for some reason his disappearance (and apparent death) made me sad.

Disgaea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disgaea:_Hour_of_Darkness)
- Flonne's death. Despite the whole game's plotline/characters being rather corny (and purposefully so), the ending (I think this was the bad ending) was very touching and very sad.

Movies

Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings:_The_Fellowship_of_the_Ring)
- Boromir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boromir#The_Two_Towers)'s death. This is the most gut-wrenchingly sad part in any movie I have seen. I think almost everyone in the theater was sobbing at this part...

TV Shows:
Babylon 5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_5) (extremely well-written science-fiction show in the 90's which I've watched over again on VHS recently.)
- Adira's Death. This girl was the only source of love for the often-alienated Londo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Londo_Mollari), and was poisoned to get back at him.
- Kosh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosh_Naranek)'s death. The enigmatic alien was somehow very likeable, and was a constant source of cryptic knowledge to the main characters. It was surprisingly depressing to see him taken out.
- Sheridan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sheridan_(Babylon_5))'s death. The main character for seasons 1-5 only had 20 years of his life left to live, and when he died it was terribly sad to see how it affected the other characters (notably his wife), and after all he had done for Earth.

There is this album called "Fear of a Blank Planet" by Porcupine Tree. The album talks about how kids are today, with them prescribed to medications, and having Xbox as a god, and whatnot. there was this track called "My Ashes." I was never sure what exactly it was talking about, but it was a good song.

About a year later, I found that the album was heavily influenced by the novel Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis. So, I got the book and read it. I'm not going to go into heavy detail, but part of the story is that early in his life, he had an abusive alcoholic father. His father stated that he wanted his ashes to be spread across a certain lake. At the end of the book, (after Bret (yes, this is an auto biography) loses his family and friends because they all think he's going insane) he took his father's ashes from the safety deposit and spread them across that lake, and went into a lot of detail about the ashes, and where they would go soaring too. When I read these last few pages, I played the song "My Ashes" in my mind, and realized the strong resemblence. It brought tears to my eyes.

The best (and one of the few good) feelings a got from a book...And just because of that song, it's probably my favorite song, which is saying a lot because I'm really picky about music.

I can honestly say that I have never wept because of virtual media.

Well...never in sorrow for the characters, anyway. I have, on more than one occasion, cried because the game I'm playing is really, really bad.

I don't know why, but I can't cry. No matter what.

Last time I cried, I was 11 years old. And since then, it seems like I forgot how to cry.

things like that... well, they dont make many RPGs where it would matter.
BUt many games i laugh so hard i cry.

Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed. Every time i use force push and things go flying only to instantly die, well, its so funny.
And in the finishing moves, mostly when you kill a jedi etc, its seems so stupid, then you see the enemy's stupidity and you cant help but laugh.
"Oh, where'd he go? *turns around* OH Sh------*dies*"
Im sorry if this seems offending, but carnage is so funny.
Well, to me anyway :D

Click: When that guy dies in his own dream, that seems really sad because it's raining and all.

The Butterfly Lion: About 2/8 of the book.

Normally, I don't cry but, I can get into the mood and cry if I feel like it. But, the only thing that actually caught me off guard and made my eyes water?

i-Robot.

The part when Sunny(the robot) was acting as if he was understanding VIKI(the main machine that is controlling all the robots and basically enslaving all humans) and now taking Dr. Calvin hostage. Then after Sunny says his part and Will Smith(such a good actor) looks as though he is so sad and emotionally hurt and just can't believe he is being betrayed, Sunny is giving the most evil looking glare into Will's eye's and then to Will's unmeasurable relief, Sunny winks. Then they fight together and win the movie.

Earlier in the movie Sunny learned that winking was a sign of trust between humans then later in the movie he used it. So cool. I never expected that because learning the wink in the earlier part of the movie didn't even seem like it would be one of the most important parts of the entire movie later on. It's my favorite part of any movie ever made ever.

Can't say I've every cried during a game, Xap, though Aeris' death was quite sad. I remember crying when Gandalf died the first time I read Lord of the Rings, though.

As for B5, didn't cry for the first two, but I CANNOT watch "Sleeping in Light" without bawling pretty much the whole time. The worst part is when John is going for his Sunday drive, and he walks away from Delenn without looking back, while she has her arm out to him. I just fall apart. It's pathetic.

I haven't cried in a long time, but this (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=9oMxckcYTg8) came pretty close. Even if you don't know the anime, it's a very powerful song.
