View Full Version : ps3 and blitwise
I've noticed that internet game companies have ps3 versions pf their games (like flow)to download onto it, is there any plans for blitwise to do that?

Sounds interesting. However, if there are plans, I'm gonna have to wait for a while (Europe)... -_-

If it's going to release on PS3.. it should release on other next-gen consoles too. eg: Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360
I think they'd make alot of profit out of it. But if they're going to sell the game as it is now.. I don't think you could sell it for the same amount as those other games.. cause Pocket Tanks doesn't really have as much gameplay as big games like Tony Hawks Wasteland, Need For Speed etc.
But if Pocket Tanks was improved and sold on Xbox 360 for £29.99.. I'd buy it! That's about $50 by the way.
but the ps3 also has an internet thing where you download games from the internet, that's what flow did, they made their game downloadable onto the ps3
Since the ps3 isn't out yet this actually could be wrong, but with it being this close to launch it's probably right.

Yeah but not everyone has the ability to connect to the Internet with consoles.. and some just can't be bothered. If you were going to do this.. you'd have to think about it financially. You need to target all aspects of the market to ensure good profit and ensure many people will buy it.. it needs to be easy to purchase for everyone.

If Anyone Has Noticed, The Market For Consoles Has Been Rising Steadily Since The Release Of The N64.
In My Opinion, Consoles Are Just Another Computer.
I Would Play My Computer Over A Console Any Day.
Except You, PSP, My Lovley Gamming System!:)

What's Up With People Who Capitalize Every Single Word They Type? Is It Just Some Way To Seek Attention?

Well, the Wii is going to include Opera, so I'd wager that there will be some downloadable content on that console.
When I see people do that, I always... think... that... they're... talking... in... slow... motion...

Well around my area console games have dramatically dropped.. although there's loads of new ones.. the 360 is the only console people actually bother with.. and they're not that bothered with it.

It would be awesome to play Neon Wars on the Wii(that was the first thing I thought when I first played the game ^^). Super DX Ball would too make good use of the WM, you could put it on the horizontal and move it like you're moving the paddle ^^

I have a good news!
PS3 is to accept any third-party software from the box!
I don't know if it's commercial software only, but it may mean HOMEBREW!
Awesome!:) I'm not going to shovel out $600 for that Ps3 anytime soon though.

Pfff. I'm not going to shovel out $600 for a PS3 AT ALL. I won't pay anything higher than $400 for a console, and even then that's a bit high for me. I mean, with $600, I could get some new RAM and a top-of-the-line video card for my computer. PhysX and DirectX10 are more appealing to me than a PS3 right now. We'll just see if that changes when there's a new GTA, and the console's price goes down.

That's the funny thing about Console gaming... For whatever reason, You would rather upgrade a Pc system that will be out of date again in a year maybe 2.... when a Console such a the Ps3 will be able to play the latest games for the next 5 or 6 years... With that in mind... I think $600 is reasonable... expecially since it can play Blu-Ray movies... I not sure... but isn't the cheapest Blu-ray player $1000....

I think the PS3 is to expensive, that's why I'm gonna buy the Nintendo Wii its only $250 and you can play GameCube games on it as well. Plus they will be making the older original Nintedo games available to play on the system as well.

Lol I only buy new stuff, but I keep all the old stuff, and I in general don't buy much stuff anyways...

Really?? I didn't know that! Cool!:)

Yep... Downloadable on the Virtual console... They already have prices... They may be official... but I beleive they are based on the Japanese prices...
The prices are in Wii Points... 100 Wii points is $1 in the US...
Virtual Console prices
The starting prices of the Virtual Console games will depend on what system the game was originally developed for. Some titles will cost more than these minimum set prices. [6]:
NES Games = 500 Wii Points
SNES Games = 800 Wii Points (900 Wii Points in Japan on selected games)
N64 Games = 1,000 Wii Points
Sega Genesis Games = 800 Wii Points (600 Wii Points in Japan)
TurboGrafix 16 Games = 600 Wii Points
Some titles will cost more than these minimum set prices.
BTW the info here is taken from Wikipedia... So it could be wrong...

True... But the PC gaming Universe doesn't care... It will continue to evolve... and if for some reason... you want to play the latest and greatest it's going to cost more and more money...

At least with a computer you don't have to buy a completely new system, you can just replace parts of your old one. Unless you have a really really old computer, then you might just want to buy a new one.

I've never been a console gamer... I prefer playing games on a multi-purpose device (a computer) which I already own for other reasons anyway, rather than a single-purpose device (a console). Also, some game styles just work better on a computer. (RTS games in particular, although I'm sure that someone will try to convince me otherwise.)

Well yeah, pretty much any point-and-click game is obviously better on a PC. Something like Age of Empires just wouldn't work on a console. And up until now, FPS games have even been better, due to the use of a mouse. But I think now that the Wii is coming out, it'll be even better for playing FPSs than a PC.
A couple of things.
First of all, Sony and homebrew games are fundamentally incompatible. You will never see legal homebrew on the PS3, period. What homebrew you do see will because of hackers (and I use the term 'hackers' in a good sense - I am always amazed at what the console hackers manage to pull off).
Secondly, companies like Sony are very difficult to work with if you're a small company. Especially if you don't want to be PS3 exclusive and want to retain the rights to what you've made.
Third, PS3 devkits will be excedingly expensive and hard to get. That's not to say it's impossible, but for a small company it's improbable.
So, as awesome as it would be, don't hold your breath for PS3 ports. Personally, I'd rather see Blitwise games in a Nintendo Wii or DS, anyway.

Am I the only one here that enjoys Platformers? FPS are boring and over done... Doom was awesome... Unreal tournament.. Even better... Everything I've seen since is just more of the same... I don't care how pretty it is... As for Rts's... Again... they all just feel the same... WarCraft 3 feels exactly like Starcraft... and The original Warcraft... Command and conquer really hasn't changed... AOE plays the same way it always has... but now it just looks alot nicer... Maybe it's just me... but platformers... just feel innovative...

Platformers bore me, and I also suck at them, so that must be one of the reasons why... XD

I much prefer platformers over FPS... Call me crazy, but I really only like one FPS... Decent 3. :)
Platformers on the other hand... you never know what you are going to get. ;)

The only FPS I really like is Nightfire. As soon as I get a Wii I going to try some more like Red Steel.
I like platformers the best.
Doom was awesome though, and I like games like Warcraft.
Incedentally, I only play Warcraft 2, I like it better than 1 and 3.;)
Starcraft is definately better for the computer than for the N64 - you can't easily point and click on an N64, and there's no level editor.:o
I think it will be cool to play Sega Genesis games on the Wii. Go Contra games!;)

That's... a whole lot... of ellipses...
But I think... there are just as many generic platformers... if not more... than other kinds of games... I mean... for example... pretty much every kids' movie that's made into a game... uses the same old recycled format as... a dozen other platformers...
Well, I can't keep up typing like that. Personally, I don't think generic always has to be a bad thing. I have the old Unreal Tournament, and I still play it to this day, but it seems really generic to me. They didn't make it innovative or unique compared to other FPSs, but it just isn't lacking in any department... Well, except the story, but I don't particularly care one way or another how good a game's story is. If I did, I'd have never played Mario.
