inspired by the homemade weapons thread,
what if there was a program that let you create your own weapons?
you would have options like
trail:decide if it has a trail, what color and how much comes off the shot
color: color of the shot
size:size of the shot
explosion?:yes or no
explosionS:explosion size
debris:any particle that comes of shot (like glue or spider)
damage:damage shot gives.
and some others. though this program would have to cost money so it doesnt put blitwise out of money for expansion packs.

Yeah it has been talked about many times.. I mentioned it myself.. and it makes me wonder.. why not? It'd be an amazing idea.. it'd solve all the moaning about when's the next weapon pack coming out? etc.

Like I said before, there's already a program to make weapons with. It's called C++ and it takes a while to learn...

I'm personally not convinced that the weapons are programmed in C++ at all. I think that it could be some sort of "scripting" language specific to Pocket Tanks. I really don't know though.

hmmm...that makes me curious.

Nah it is C++.. but it's stupid learning a whole computer language just to make weapon packs lol.. it'd take ages!

Nah it is C++..
I seriously doubt it. The reason being that you generally compile C++ programs into executables - machine code, and I just can't see that working with the main engine. I would say C++ if you got an updated executable with every expansion, but otherwise...
Anyway, see the files in the weapons folder? Those don't look like compiled code, they more look like "compiled" scripts. I could easily come up with more reasons to support my hunch, but I think I'll stop now. ;)

well if we just had like the code for like gamma blaster we could probobly mess around with it and get somthing cool

I'm agreeing with Was It Me?, it makes sense that Pocket Tanks weapons would have a specific coding for them to work. I've seen this in many games, such as Orbz and Wxsand.

That's not quite an answer as to how the weapons are made though...
I don't think that some of you guys are quite understanding how C++/coding works... I hope Mike W. will come and clear this up.

lol, I highly doubt that we would get something cool if we just messed around like that.
Whoa!! Liamthespy, when did you get here? How did you find here? My name on FSG forums is Zev747! Wxsand is awesome! Now I'm just being spontaneous!

IQs are overrated...
Their either too generalized or too specialized... I don't know which... >_<

I dunno what that means but I have an IQ of 125...is that low? I think it is because I get mostly Ds in school. GPA was 1.7 this year! New high score!

Lol 125 is pretty good, but it really doesn't mean anything in the real world...

I took an IQ test and they wouldn't even let me see the results unless I paid $7...
