Yeah, I think I'm missing one of the requirements because the game plays really choppy. I may be missing an esseintial program, or something. I looked at the reqiurements on the readme, but I can't figure out what I'm missing! Can someone please help? (If this helps, Ptanks still works fine!)

Can you post your machine's specs? (At least the main ones?)

What are machine specs? How do I get to them?
Was It Me?

Machine specs. = Basically your computer's hardware and/or software. (Eg. Processor type/speed, video card make/amount of memory, RAM amount, OS, ect... in this case.) :)
On Windows XP:
Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information
Or even easier...
Start->My Computer (right-click)->Properties. It should say your OS, processor type/speed, and RAM there.

System:
Microsoft windows XP
Profesional
Version 2002
service pack 2
Computer:
intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1400MHz
1.40GHz, 256 MB of ram
Like that?

Yep. :)
Now for the video card...
Right click on your desktop and click Properties. Then, at the top of the window, click the Settings tab. Now, near the bottom of the window, click the Advanced button. Finally, click the Adapter tab on the new window, and your video card info should be in the Adapter Information box.

Yep. That's it. :)
It looks like your video card may have some "issues" with running Neon Wars. That may be the problem. The rest of your computer's specs look plenty good enough to run without being choppy. What graphics settings are you trying to run Neon Wars under?

umm...lemme check that...
1024 by 768 pixels.
Is that the right thing?

I don't think that has anything to do with the problem because the music is choppy too. Also, the quality is at low.
Was It Me?

The music would be choppy if your computer was having a hard time running the game...
Well, are you running any other programs in the background? (Possibly resource intensive ones?)

umm...so now what do I do? And it's not just a little choppy, it's annoying to open the game it's so choppy! Oh yeah, I think I should have said this earlier, but it said the first time I opened it (and that time only) that I was missing 1 of the 4 requirements. It had a list of the 4, but I thought it was no big deal.

It probably was the video card. Mines kinda old and I wasn't running any other programs.

My guess would be the video card. One of the reasons Neon Wars was delayed in coming out was some issues with older video cards not being too happy with Allegro and OpenGL, from what I understand. I'll bring this to Mike's attention on Monday and see what his input is.

I guess I have Allegro because whenever I run the game that comes up also, but I can still play with the High Graphics but the downside is an occasional "pause" in the game every once in a while.

Try running in low gfx quality and turning off the music if it's still choppy (set the music volume to 1).
Your gfx card has 16 mb of memory, when the recommended is 32mb. That might be the cause of the chopiness too..

but how would the music be like helped though....

Playing the music takes some cpu time. So if your PC is struggling, turning off the music can help.

That's neat... I said almost the exact same thing as Rich! Does that make me cool? ;)

OMG!!! I just relized that whenever I open Neon Wars, Allegro opens too! What can I do to help this?
Was It Me?

Um... nothing. Allegro is built into the game. You aren't seeing "Allegro" open (even though the window title says so) that's just part of the game. ;)
(I'm almost positive about this. Correct me if I'm wrong, Rich... :P)
