Awesome game!
Our office actually has Pocket Tanks tournaments- we play on a daily basis. Anyway, here are a few ideas, some I think the engine just won't allow, and I'm sure some more will pop up over time. We can't wait for the next set of weapons! One of the best things about the game is it's simple and not overdone.
Char - Turn the target tank black (or if optional background come into play, you could just make the target tank or turrent invisible). I don't know if this engine will allow it, but it would be a heck of a way to either hide yourself or in combo with wacky tank/Star Dust/Gravity well, etc, hide the visual angle of the enemy turret to make targeting around dirt or walls difficult.
An option would be to just "Char" the turret.
Hangman - Lanch youself very high into the air and be suspended in the air. Kind of like pillar, but only wide enough to hold the tank and the dirt below will be almost totally swept away except for a thin bit of "suspend" dirt. This has a large variety of tactical uses like protection against a poor targeter and certain weapons like fire and ice. However, it can force you to be vulnerable to line of sight wepons that are so often wasted like bazooka and laser. The layer of suspend dirt will be very thin, so most direct hits will cause the tank to fall back to the ground. Think great wall
Super Glue. Just like normal glue bomb, but the glue disallows movement or jump jets if in contact.
Bounce Shower. Duplicate dynamics of color bomb, but rain down bouncy dirt instead.
Clone. Your own tank appears to explode with the same dynamics of magic forest, but instead there are exact copies of your tank. These copies will deteriorate just like dirt but will look like tanks until destroyed. One of them at random will be your real tank. Although only good for maybe one volley, it may be a tactical life saver until they active player arrow apears and gives away your position next round.
