Should BlitWise advertise? I say yes, but in magazines.

If you think BlitWise should advertise, then say on what.

As long as it isn't pop-ups, I'm good, and to keep the ads in appropriate places, like gaming magazines.

Many don't seem to grasp that very basic concept of audience.
One example being all the feminine skincare products on the History channel that interrupt whatever WWII movie you're enjoying.

Yes. In gaming magazines and stuff.

I think that would be up to BlitWise...

Cmon, how are they going to get that money for a ad while still getting the cash for what they do for us now?

How would you know that they wouldn't have the money for advertising? I'm not saying that BlitWise has a lot of money to advertise, but it is up to them on how they keep track of it. It's kind of like me asking you in person "How much money do you have in your bank account?" and then tell other people about that information. It just sounds wrong asking someone something that is none of your business.

Exactly. You guys are asking the question. And believe me, depending where blitwise advertises (Like magazines) it could be thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Samail

it could be thousands apon thousands of dollers.

Would that be thousands in US/CAD currency as well?

I know. But I have asked no question, only a unsupported statement that can only be justified by brian, who could actually turn it into a fact. However, as I have said before, I dont think think they should or want to advertise. This is my perfect area of tranquility, and I do not want to be desturbed from other new "unholy" members who do not think of the board the same way you or I do. This, coupled with the fact that Mike and the gang are spending a lot of time on projects, could wreak havoc on the boards.

Although, I am looking a bit ahead...

True. Spreading word does open the doors to the masses.
I don't think certain members could handle it and would leave. You can't beat them in arguments... I've ranted on this already.

I say no. Ads from stuff like Google Adsense never advertise to the right people. Magazine ads are always overlooked, especially by me. Anything else is either too expensive or not noticed.

Adverts probably wouldn't be that great of an idea, but if we could attract the attention of someone highly visible in the gaming world, they might give a sufficiently favorable testimonial that many of their fans would try it out.

i'd say try to advertise to the older-ish type of people, because your never going to get a 9 year old to play PT. their attention spans are too low, they want to play something fast paced.

ever see a 9 year old play GTA? like, ANY GTA. (yeah, i know. a nine year old?) they never do the missions. ever. they just run around, steal cars, lead high speed chases, get an AK-47, "hurt" people, get up six starts, steal a tank, and when their rampage is over they walk out of the hospital and do it again.

blitwise would need to advertise to older people, but not too old, like, 12-13, and hope they get hooked, so they stay on. because no 16 year old i know would play PT when he could easily just play Halo 3.

but how to do that?

obviously what leon said. youd be hooking the masses of a video game hero. but who would do that? that is the question. mabey we could just hope that one of us becomes a really good game developer, then that person could spread the news.

but that's a bit of a stretch, isn't it?

so how 'bout you start with arcades? i don't know that many arcades, except fo eagames, coffeebreakarcade, freearcade, miniclip. that age group visits those alot. put up a bright banner that says "the most sophisticated tank game ever."
next slide: 200+ weapons
next slide: online play (i would presume you would work on finishing up the game before advertising, eh?)
next slide: (stuff about game here)

i think it would work.

PTanks has two target groups IMO:
5-14: Very easily addicted (when I found PTanks)
20+: Most likely don't play games often and PTanks is simple enough for people like my dad to understand.

Rex Nex

Ekoz, one problem. Mikes not ever finishing the game, at least not until hes has to drop the idea or had a turning point in life. And by that point I doubt he would set things up for arcades.

Now that again is a unsupported decision I have made by myself.

And Blue_Moon, within a dozen years or so, the generation will change. And, today, our rapidly developing societies are focused on electronics. Now, one thing I will always look forward to, and wish I had when I was a kid, was turning to a adult and actually having CONVERSATIONS with the younger generation on Ipods, music, and games. That fine line that kinda goes haywire when adults try to relate to their children or something will drift a bit away, if not completely disappear.

Now, the generation of adults right now (Not the old ones, mind you, the 30/40ish range was the first generation to actually have games in it. And right now, there ARE parents that play games. But there isn't many, for back then you either got hooked on pacman or the new generation game "Mario"... it would be like hooking yourself on either Breakout (Super DX Ball is a breakout game, if I am not mistaken) or Resident Evil 4.

Gah, I'm bored on my last few minutes I have on the Internet... If I don't get to bed within 40 minutes I will have to suffer from a headache when I wake up....

Blitwise should definately advertise (my opinion)

Reason? I just met two people -- a teacher and a student -- who play PT. It shows how successful they are at the moment and how they should continue to gain more success =)

Gratz Blitwise!

Heck, Brian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Clevinger) Clevenger (http://www.nuklearpower.com/) plays Neon Wars. :)

It doesn't take much to spread.

I don't think Blitwise should advertise. A lot of companies, stores and musical artists have avoided ads and publicity for good reasons. A decent reason for Blitwise to not advertise is because there would be be a flood of Forum Users and everyone would start annoying the living sh!t out of everyone. A better reason is because IT COSTS A BUNDLE. And I never pay any mind to Ads. I just laugh inside if they're somewhat funny, and continue with my day.

Advertising on those sites wouldn't give Blitwise the right target audience.

I don't think Blitwise should advertise.

The poll says different. (18-Yes 4-No)

...That doesn't change the fact that he isn't for it.
The poll says the same.
