The next version of PT is coming out VERY soon... so I'm wondering... with the ability to chose what weapons appear in the weapon shop and the ability to save said sets, what weapons do you think will constitute your favorite sets?

The first set that I will make is one with only weapons that fire more than one shot. Such as streamers, potholes, 10 shot and ambush.

zetablack
09-30-2006, 01:22 PM
wee that would be fun that will be alot of shots.

Zwaken
09-30-2006, 02:44 PM
Ummm...this is a question...Does anybody know if we will be able to save our settings as one name and then open the settings later? You know, can I make the settings to all multiple shot weapons, save it as multi shots, then open it like 3 days later?

oooo good question i think thats a possibility.

I really hope that's the case...I WANT SAVE CAPABILITY!!! Because it would be cool...

zetablack
09-30-2006, 03:03 PM
well thinking it would be because its just saveing a setting list which is in almost every game so maybe.

09-30-2006, 06:06 PM
yeah, it shouldnt take up to much code to do that,

anyways i would have a weapon set with bouncy dirt and molten plastic and the like along with only golden bulllets.
could be fun eh?

ug my ears are already hurting from bouncy noises

Yes, Brian said that we will have the ability to save our favorite sets and reload them when we want.

You could ask your friend to get the update for you...

Oh, and I really like the idea of custom weapon sets too. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Ooh, custom weapon sets?
You mean, you could make sets of 20 of your favorite weapons?:)

Was It Me?
10-03-2006, 01:43 AM
Yes, if you wanted to... You aren't limited to 20 though. It's a nice feature to that you can disable weapons that you don't like. It's supposedly in the next update to Pocket Tanks. :)

i wish it were that simple, my friend just got a new computer, and the proof of purchase email did not survive the file transfer to the new machine

Was It Me?
10-13-2006, 09:32 PM
You don't need the proof of purchase. You just need to send an e-mail with the name and e-mail address used to purchase included.

I wonder if I could do some long math and figure out how many weapon combinations there are when the weapon set option comes out. Oh and will there be a limit on the number? So you can't make a weapon set with just one weapon, although that would be cool. I would have one with just Streamers as the weapon. :D

Zwaken
12-02-2006, 03:05 AM
I would have a pure skill one...all sniper rifles ;)

I'm thinking the number of possible weapon combinations is around a googol...

I'm thinking the number of possible weapon combinations is around a googol...

I'm not to sure about that...that's 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0!!!!!

And yes, I counted all of the zeros...all 100 of them.

???revived
12-02-2006, 04:58 AM
Well I read somewhere on wikipedia that if you had seventy people in line for something, the number of possible combinations of arranging them is about a googol (although I think in that thing you can also take away people, thus adding extra combinations)...

Zwaken
12-02-2006, 01:05 PM
hmmm...you may be right, you may be wrong...

Grr... I hate googol!
Stupid number that someone put on the internet and people came up with a use for...
However, I like google. ;)

Slater
12-02-2006, 04:54 PM
actually, it's about 93.54 quindecillions. Thats 9354 followed by 46 zeros

Was It Me?
12-02-2006, 05:07 PM
I thought that it was equivalent to 10 raised to the power of a hundred... A googolplex is 10 raised to the power of a googol... That's a big number. ;)

According to my dictionary, the term "googol" was originally coined during the 1940's by the nine-year-old nephew of the American mathematician Edward Kasner. :)

Slater
12-02-2006, 05:19 PM
no, I'm talking about the number of weapon combinations

Read Was It Me's post... It's a real number...

I also read somewhere that the largest number that still has a practical use in mathematics is Graham's Number, which I forgot how much it was...

Everlast
12-03-2006, 02:19 PM
I thought the Googol Complex was the biggest.

Zwaken
12-03-2006, 09:56 PM
actually, there isn't a "biggest number." numbers go on forever and if you think about it the word "Car" or "Coat" may become an actual number if they ever need to use a number that big.

???revived
12-03-2006, 10:28 PM
I know that numbers stretch on forever, but what I meant by my post was that eventually, really huge numbers aren't practical in a scientific sense, and therefore I meant that the largest number (NOT overall, since there isn't any) that still has a use in science is Graham's Number (I think that that is what it's called)...

In other words, read my previous post again...

Everlast
12-04-2006, 02:18 AM
Well that probably the point where the "smart people" realizes "Hey I can't fit this number on this piece of paper! " So they came up with that thing that I don't know what it is called but here it is 10 x 10 to the say the 200th power. (Scientific Notation I think is what its called)

???revived
12-04-2006, 10:55 PM
I think you mean exponents...

And obviously people wouldn't, for example, write out all the zeroes in a googol if they needed to write the number...

Zwaken
12-05-2006, 12:29 AM
I do. :D :D :D

Santris15
12-05-2006, 01:53 AM
I'm pretty sure Everlast is right. It is scientific notation, and it is quite handy.

???revived
12-05-2006, 10:52 PM
Scientific Notation is 3.4 x 10 to the power of x (and stuff like that)...

It's used to express big numbers or really small fractions in an easy way...

Exponents are included in scientific notation, but said notation is an extention of exponents into a practical use...

I hope that that made sense...

EDIT: Read Everlast's post again. I'm wrong, he did mean scientific notation, I just sort of didn't read the "to the power of" thing after the 10 x 10, which is where I assumed he meant exponents...

Ok, on online play (when it comes out) will you be able to disable certain weapons on that also?

Well, from the screenshots here (http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89) that were posted a while back, it looks like you can. ;)
