I was wondering around the forums and stumbled upon this post:

u9's Post (http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showpost.php?p=39634&postcount=41)

It references a BlitzPlus Demo. I installed it and looked at further links and stumbled upon this page:

Blitz Basic (http://www.blitzbasic.com/)

When I look at the page I find the game "Platypus". It appears on PopCap Games' site:

Platypus from PopCap Games (http://www.popcap.com/games/platypus)

This made me think "Does BlitWise Productions, PopCap Games, GameHouse, Blinkenlichten Productions, LDA Games, and/or Raptisoft use this programming language or do they use C++?"

They use C++. Blitz Basic is too limited in my perspective, as I believe my version of Blitz Basic (Blitz 3D) does not support writing to external files.

Blue Moon is essentially correct. I've toyed around with BlitzBasic in my sporadic forays into learning programming. Unfortunately much of my work time is taken up with more mundane things, so my experience is limited.

Blitz Basic was actually the language that Mike recommended me to start with when I sent him a mail 4 years ago. :)
