I was on a whim playing DX-Ball 1 the other day and as I realised it was going pretty darn fast and quite hard to play as I'm somewhat of a weakling, I went looking for a slowdown patch or something similar.

Then I eventually came to this site, played the Super DX Ball demo and was hooked!

This caught me by surprise because I played DX Ball 2 a few times and for some reason... it just never really clicked with me the same way DX Ball 1 did. SDXB and DX Ball 1 both have a similar vibe. DX Ball 2 just seems somewhat different. I know it's other programmers and another company but I was wondering if anyone else felt the same. Also, DX Ball 2 had an enormous wealth of user created boards which brought rise to the well used phrase, "less is more". SDXB has more than enough boards for the most part. At the very least several hundred is far better than the somewhat ludicrous few thousand.

Nobody would ever play through all those and not get bored.

Anyway, first post of the forum after buying this game at about 6am this morning or so! :D

I was in your shoes when I was playing DX-Ball a few years back. Got bored and did a Google search and found LDA Games (http://www.ldagames.com) and BlitWise Productions (http://www.blitwise.com). I got all full versions of every game from both sites!

Apparently that's more common than I thought. I was trying to restore my collection of DOS games a couple of years ago, and I found Pocket Tanks while looking for Scorched Earth.
