(The Forum Games)
In this thread, discuss who you would think would be a moderator! You can not flame or spam.
--EDIT--
I noticed I cannot add everyone I wanted to. If your vote isnt up there, please post who.

I picked ???Revived because he's probably one of the more mature members on this forum that is currently active.
Rex Nex
10-27-2007, 02:05 AM
I will not pick yet, but ???revived is awsome! He is a fallow ness-beleiver.
OMG why cant I get a 5 lines long sig? Mine hits 4, (5 on the editor) and it says "To Many Lines"!
Zwaken
10-27-2007, 02:53 AM
I picked Everlast because he seems responsible.
Rex Nex

Blue Moon For Maturity and Activness.
???revived
10-27-2007, 02:55 AM
Awesome. Can you vote for yourself? :P
Obviously no, so I'd pick probably Blue Moon. These forums aren't that horribly active, so somebody that is as a moderator, would probably be enough for a looooong time.
Rex Nex

Lol, Blue Moon and I MAKE these forums active....
Brian, can we advertise Blitwise?

Brian, can we advertise Blitwise?
I don't know if active is the word I would have used... Anyway there are plenty of active members besides just you and Bluemoon, so don't act like you guys are the only people keeping this forum alive.
I voted Everlast.

I was going to vote Everlast... But I don't know where he went. He's gone for a bit.

Halo 3 is my guess.

I know, I was just making a mere joke.

Everlast, blue_moon, Zwaken and Skix are all equal, I think. Most are forum veterans, and have contributed well to just about every part of the forums. Maturity, awesomeness, and being able to debate without looking stupid are all important.
So I won't be voting. If there were check boxes instead I would. :)
Everlast

Halo 3 is my guess.
Yes, but I have not gone away, I read the forums everyday, I just don't post. :p
Anyway I voted for Zwaken.
And I have one question, why isn't Feronat's name up there. :D
Rex Nex
10-27-2007, 07:19 PM
Because if he was a Mod I would be a Admin.

Yeah I'm here just about 24/7. I just keep the forum in tab on my browser, checking back whenever.
Hmm... Feronat as a mod...
That'd be like... I'm out of similes. It would be bad.
Rex Nex
10-27-2007, 08:29 PM
It would be like Rex being a Admin! MADNESS!
Everlast
10-27-2007, 08:30 PM
This is madness!..........Madness?.........This is SPARTA!!!
I just had to throw that in there. :D
Samail
10-27-2007, 08:51 PM
Madness? (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=231)
if feronat was a mod...then the world would come to a standstill, locusts would come out of nowhere and chew on our digits, jupiter would crash into us, and the sun would blow up and we would all be sucked into a black hole. metephorically speaking.
nobody voted for me :(
i go for blue moon.
Pyrobellum
10-28-2007, 02:05 AM
MEEE! Bwahaha. Actually, I would have to vote for no new mods, because there really is no problem with spam here. At least not compared to the battle.net forums.
Rex Nex
10-28-2007, 04:05 AM
I would vote me:
Spammers would say all:
Car I need good rental area please tell?
I would be all:
Sorry no know what area rental, ban sorry bye.
and confuse them.
Honestly... There is no other thought of who could be mod... then me. so I Vote for me... then again, Everlast and Loofiloo are my second choice.
Open minded, yet intelegent, not quick to judge negitivly. Thats what I see in a good mod.
No offense, but I think Blue moon and Rex would be sub-standerd mods...
Rex Nex
10-28-2007, 04:28 AM
Thats what I like in a Administator, not as much in a moderator.
How do we count on a mod who uses a cell to post?

Everlast

This forum doesn't really need another mod anyway, Ben and Brian do a good job keeping it clean now.

10-28-2007, 09:31 PM
Yeah, but that's not the point. The point is that who would be a good moderator. This is not at all related to the matter of picking a moderator.
@ Rex: Blitwise has all the admins they need, don't get your hopes up.
Samail
10-28-2007, 09:31 PM
I'm pretty sure this is a hypothetical poll.
EDIT: Woah, same-second post.
And yeah, Loofiloo ought to be on the list as well. (I know there's a limit.) The only one missing. (To my knowledge.)
blue_moon
10-28-2007, 09:35 PM
Yeah, it happens a lot. Like, when somebody asks if someone would ave them from a burning building, it doesn't mean that they plan to be caught in a burning building within the hour.
I PLAN to be trapped in a burning building in the hour. it makes life all the more...er...FUN!

the world must be about to end, please excuse me while I go prepare for the end and the great beyond.

Since I'm not on the list, my two second-choice votes would probably add up to one vote.
So many people overhype moderator status. It kinda has its drawbacks. On the ragdollsoft forum, I often wonder if deleting something is too harsh and whatnot. Sometimes they make it obvious, like posting nothing but some stupid random word like "pie" or entering a word so long that it puts a horizontal scroll bar on the page. Other times you gotta wonder if something is stupid enough to be deleted, or if a certain degree of stupidity can be permitted.
That probably wouldn't be much of a problem here, which is why a moderator's not needed in the first place. I never really see any excessively stupid posts or blatant flame wars. Problems around here can pretty much be dealt with in no more than five minutes.
That's why I wish more of the Blitwise member hung around my site. Like 90% of it is Ragdollsoft members, and they're a lot more unruly. Though admittedly, the forums at Ragdollsoft itself get a lot more problematic. Flame wars and useless spam posts are more frequent... It's a full-time job. =P
Though I admit mod status would be cool HERE, anywhere bigger would suck.
Modds are the slaves of the admin. Unpaid workers burdend with the job of cleaning up the spam and judgeing the every day users. They are the constant bearers of bad news, and are feared in many circles. They accept the job for the "Honor" of it, but fear is not honor.
Oh, and I just would like to say I got the net recently Rex, but i still use the cell phone to post at school when bored...

post at school when bored...
Ok... Um... Eh... Yeah. Sure. Isn't school a bit more important than an online community?
@ Skix: Mods aren't totally that. They aren't bossed by admins, as admins actually can do all the stuff mods do, and more.
@ Loofiloo: All that stuff is fun. I love completely erasing facts from the face of the earth, or editing them to my liking.
Loofiloo

@ Loofiloo: All that stuff is fun. I love completely erasing facts from the face of the earth, or editing them to my liking.
Yeah, but that's the thing. If you edit them to YOUR liking, then you're just abusing your abilities. You have to try to act out the will of the community, not your own personal will. I could edit or delete any posts of people who disagree with me, but it would just be an irresponsible and immature way to act. Additionally, I could only pay attention to the threads that interest me, but it's the same deal. I have to read every thread, even ones that don't concern me and that I don't care about at all, just to make sure people aren't pirating games or kicking up a flame war or something. If you want to be a moderator for fun, it's not the right reason. Assuming the right kind of person gets picked, it wouldn't matter who it is, because they'd just be putting things as they need to be.
Of course, if there was a reporting function in phpBB, it would make things a lot easier. Another reason to not have moderators here. Brian doesn't have to look through every thread and check every post if he doesn't want to; just the ones that get reported.

Smaller forums make moderating easier, obviously.
But yeah, X summed it up there.
XRaiderV1

my logic is, when in doubt, do nothing, situations that have me uncertain like that, usually have a way of resolving themselves on their own, without the need for outside intervention.
its the aftermath that concerns me.
hence, with great power, comes great responsabllity.

my freind, the way you spell "constipation" is however way YOU want it, because constipation makes you spew crap, and you sure seem to have constipation of the mouth right now.
for those who didn't get that, because he's spelling crap from his mouth, he can spell it however he wants it because the way he wants it is crap. it's a perfect cicle of logic, see?

Relaxation is my modivation. Without being able to relax, there wouldn't be any point to finishing a task. I think schools don't understand that...
...AND MY STUPID ENGLISH TEACHER GAVE ME AN 'E' ON AN ESSAY!!! I should have gotten a B-, or a C+. So right now, I'm not motivated because the teacher doesn't know what a change in a paragraph looks like.

No, an E is the equilevant to an F. They're both 59% or lower, I think.

I got scolded at for typing something in English as apposed to writing in pen. I had 5 other copies that were crap because I kept wanting to add things in the middle or stuff. Also, the teacher wrote "double space type" three times on my rough copy, and crossed out mine.

Like, you can't put a hole in the hole unless you make a hole. Some junior said that to a freshman who told him to put a hole where the hole was.
