View Full Version : Does Mass Driver Bounce?

I have seen that many people have been arguing over if Mass Driver (from Gold pack) bounces or not.
I decided to conduct an experiment to figure this out.
On practice mode, I did flats, and covered everything with bouncy dirt.
Then I launched three Mass Drivers.
All three of them did NOT bounce, However, they all made loud bouncing noises.
I think that some people may be confused, because of the bouncing noise that Mass Driver makes when it hits bouncy dirt.
Here's two screenshots:

Just to be sure, you should try Funnels, Bouncy Balls, Molten Plastic, ect. on flats, slopes, ect. before you call this case closed. :)

That may be true... You're onto something.

Sounds good:)
Maybe it only bounces when it hits a thicker layer of bouncy dirt, considering that the meteor is so chunky...
Hmm...

I think you're right. I've seen it bounce but it still goes down at a steep angle. I don't think it can bounce into the sky (although that would be kinda funny to watch). :D

Man, it's going to be difficult for anyone to get a convincing screen shot of a mass driver meteor bouncing...

We don't need to, I got proof a while ago. You should find a video in this thread somewhere: http://forums.blitwise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227

EDIT
I seem to have lost the video, but some of my pictures are still there.

Not bounce straight back up, though, just sort of on a diagonal...

It more or less "slides"... :)

That's not the case anymore! I don't have any proof at all to show this, but I covered the field with bouncy ball dirt and molten plastic dirt for fun. After that, I just fired a Mass driver and it bounced so much that it went all the way to the left. About 0 degrees. I know there is no proof, but I'm telling the truth! That was all in target practice too.

mass driver does bounce on a thick layer of molten plastic

I didn't get a video, but mass driver did ounce off bouncy dirt, going upwards and off the screen.

YOU'VE GOT TO BELEIVE ME! I SWEAR IT'S TRUE!

Says the spammer who bumps dead topics, says LOL to everything and has probably lied to us countless times. We'll al believe you once you have good enough proof, like a screenshot.

I just fired bouncy dirt everywhere and fired mass driver a few times. Since there were so many weird angles created by the molten plastic, 3 out of the 4shots I shot hit the dirt and kind of bounced. It didn't completely go up, but it went down and to the side. So I would say it bounces. Now maybe someone could get it to bounce of one angled piece of land, into another angled piece of land. Making it go up. It would be slightly like a mini golf put or something. That would be hard to do though!

It bounces for sure if it hits directly into a funnel.
