Why? Because Mike isn't asking us for much. $8 for his time is chump change. Nobody's charging you hundreds or thousands of dollars for this game. I mean, if you pirated something like MS Office or Photoshop, I would almost understand... those programs are just incredibly overpriced for what they are. But stealing an $8 piece of software is, I'm sorry, just plain cheap.

And hey, if you're playing it for that long, I'll say you got more than your money's worth out of it, no? Compare this to a console game you pay $50 or $60 and then let it sit on the shelf after two months of playing. ;)

This is probably not the way to get a good reputation on this site. I'm new and since I want to be honest I did steal the packs. But I have good reasons for doing so. I have played the Original Pocket Tanks for about 6 months just starring and looking at the Deluxe version and all its glorious weapons, then the gold pack came and I just couldn't help myself. And since my parents refuse to put their credit card on the internet buying the game was basically a hope that was buried 6 feet under. My parents don't trust putting their credit card number on the internet under any cercumstances even if I pay them. So the last resort was to, yes, get them illegaly off the internet. I promise that when I get my own credit card in about 2 years I will leggally buy any new updates. This is an ausome game, and I would like to support it but without a credit card I'm sunk for right now. I will say that I got all the Deluxe version with all the expansions including the Gold and Snowball pack for free on one web site. For sake of people getting on this forum, also searching for it for free I will not post a link. Incase any of you are curious to which website is posting Pocket Tanks Deluxe + All Expansions for free, feel free to e-mail me and I will give you a link. Again I am sorry for stealing but my choice was either get it illegaly or not get it at all or wait 2 years till I got my own credit card. By all means if you hate me please say so. Other than that though, im not allowed to buy stuff online, so i find a way (illegal), it's only 20$ whatever for some packs and weapons to start with, so i don't think its going to make mike die lol.

If you have on option to download something from the page that doesn't exist, it probably generates a page with a link to the same file. It wouldn't matter if you download an MP3 or a game, you'd still get malware.

I plan on making my own games in the near future and when I sell a game download online each person who downloads from my pay site will get a unique key code that will get them free stuff. Plus, I want to hold online tournaments where you will need the key code to enter. Hopefully this will make it harder to steal and give an incentive to buy.

I have a book and a e-book and I can read them all I want but, until I do what they say, it almost makes no sense.

Even when I start doing some exercises it takes some time to get them down correctly. After I do them, though, it gets easier. But, then you have to learn something new and it starts over again.

Yes, it just gets harder and harder because once you learn one thing you have to use it in the next thing you learn.

I have to disagree about it being boring though. It's fun because you make the computer "say" or "do" things. I made a program for my girlfriend and when she was answering questions that the computer was asking it would make fun of or insult her. haha, it's fun to me.

Maybe about 4 more months and I can make a game.

I want to make an artillery game as well.
I also wanted to make a platform game. Something like the original Mario Bros. but, of course, much cooler and more fun.

I am a big fan of the simple games, which is why I'm so in to Pocket Tanks but, I just think it could be much more fulfilling if they actually put the effort into it. I could be wrong. Maybe it really does take that long to release new packs and get a game online. I guess that's one thing I will find out.

Now, I'm not dissing Pocket Tanks, but people on these forums can never get enough. If I were to make a similar type of game, maybe even better, then we could all possibly be satisfied.
Fortunately for me, my brother does networking and communications type stuff for his job in the military so after I make the games they will immediately be playable online. Plus I have a friend that is more than happy to build the website and market the games I make.

I never really thought I would actually do something like this but Pocket Tanks really inspired me.

After this weapon was made, it kind of upset me that something I thought of inspired something so crappy. Ask anyone on here how much they love Mudslide. You won't get a response except for maybe someone calling you crazy. I wish they never put my name on that piece of junk. It was a real slap in the face to put in that weapon instead of what inspired it. But, it's all good because I can come back and show them how it's done. Or, at least, how I think it should be done.

You ever heard the phrase, "If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself." Well, that's pretty much how I think all the time. When something's not going the way I want it, I make it go the way I want it unless I really don't care about it that much then I just forget about it. I will not forget Pocket Tanks, though. It's really the only game I play besides Chess and sometimes Falling Forever. But those both use to be just quick time-passers. Now I don't play either of them. I just study C++ and on my breaks I'll get a few games of Pocket Tanks in. I'm just too picky about games I play and Pocket Tanks was pretty much a bulls-eye on what I like. I actually use to play Worms Armageddon with one of my friends all the time but I moved and found Pocket Tanks before I found Worms again. I like the computer more than the Playstation because I don't play a lot of games so I stick with Pocket Tanks.

Anyway, I can already see it. Although, C++ is pretty difficult right now and I may need to learn more stuff before I can make a really good game so it might take a bit longer than 4 months. But, after I become fluent in C++ and whatever else I need, I'm going full speed and nothing is going to slow me down.

But enough ranting. Time to get some sleep for my big day of fun filled C++ goodness!

Mudslide is one of my favorite weapons in the entire game. I'm totally serious.

I plan to make a Scorched Earth clone as well (hopefully with enough fresh ideas, though), and I'm going to add a system for making new weapons (nothing too fancy though, you'll have to edit a text file unless I feel up to making some sort of interface for it). However, this will be many months from now, and I probably won't even start until next year.

For less than $100 I have been able to enjoy a game for 5 years that continues to expand and grow as well. Furthermore, these guys are just plain awesome. Most game companies cannot compete with the costumer support and friendliness that Blitwise offers. I haven't found a better deal yet.
