Overpowered Weapons

Which weapons do you think are overpowered in some way or another? The Super Star has won me a game countless times before, and I've scored over 250 points in one shot a few times. The Gamma Blaster also gets my vote, because it is virtually unavoidable, and has the potential to score well over 150 points.

I think the super star is very overpowered too, however it is one of my favorite weapons;)
I'm not so sure about the gamma blaster... At long range its little two point shots can only score around eighty or lower.
Gamma blaster can only get over a hundred at close range, but that can be said for many weapons,
such as the stinger, tommy gun, and loadstones.

It's nice to have at least one "unavoidable" weapon... :)

I think that weapons like Super Nova and Spinner shouldn't do 2000-3000 damage up close. It's just too powerful.

Oh, and I like Super Star. :)

The maximum damage Gamma Blaster can do is 80. It fires 40 bullets that do 2 damage apiece.

As for overpowered weapons, I think Funnel should count, because it gives the opportunity for many overpowered setups.

Sprinkler in funnle can get a lot of points

Sonic Blast does well over 100 damage when deployed near the enemy tank, and fireworks is simply broken when comboed with funnel.

there was a very rare occasion when i did i THINK around 500 points with Sunburn. was also really loud too rofl

Some others not mentioned here:
Popcorn/Burnt Popcorn: Can do over 100 easily, sometimes 200 (I still love them though)
Mega Reaction/Mega Nuke: Basically just superpowered
Lava: If you hit them right it does 40 on the hit and then up to 25 per count, and it lasts longer than Napalm
Meltdown: Can do heaps if you hit them while there's no dirt under them
Spinner: Does massive damage if you get caught in the centre, like 500 or something. Not that it matters against an enemy but NEVER use it to dig youself out :( . Still looks flashy but :cool:
Some other weapons, like Hot Potato and Fireworks if they bounce the right way can do loads

I would agree with Funnel too, since it sets up so many weapons to do so much so quickly, especially some that aren't that superb otherwise (like Power Grid).

some more weapons which can cause heavy damage -

mega reaction - can give upto 250 points easily
fire in the hole - if the enemy tank is on the ground with no dirt below them, it can give upto 250 points
nuke - if the enemy tank is trapped, it gives full 160 points easily
hot potato - on a good explosion, it can give upto 200 points
stinger - can give upto 200 points if enemy tank is close enough
power grid - can give over 200 points on its own without any bouncy dirt-type weapons. if used with a funnel, it easily gives 500-600 points
super star - if all 3 stars fire, it can give upto 250 points
fireworks - if hit on full aim, it can give upto 400 points

these weapons do damage if the pointer of ur tank is placed at the center of the enemy tank -

porcupine - can give upto 350 points
pineapple - upto 600 points
pin cushion - upto 600 points
particle bomb - upto 700 points
super nova - upto 1500 points

Spinner can get over 4000 points when used inside the opponent tank on bare terrain.

I Think firework takes the cake for this one. If you manage to get it uner your opponent it does a butt load of damage. more than 400.

There may be some powerful weapons, and some weaker ones, thats why there is a selection screen for each player to take 10. If you don't like a weapon, don't take it. The enemy will take things like superstar first, and usually mess it up on the first shot.

The only problem with choosing weapons is that the way my friends and I play is that we only play with random selection. so no help there.

True. but then again.. all the weapons are great! the problem with taking weapons out is that people will be able to make Über combinations and make it a little unfair. me thinks.

That's called skill, I was against a levl 8 opponent, and it scored 150 pts with Power Grid, and he did a 200 with lava canon (new combo! magic forest then lava canon!).

Superstar deffinatly, its pretty cheap. But pin cushion can score you 600 points if your next to the tank.

Since when do you go next to the opponent outside of target practice? Maybe one time out of 30? 40? I don't think any weapons like spinner or pin coushion would be concidered superpowered.

I agree. Without weapons like that, the game wouldn't be as well... cool! :)

And remember, we are talking about overpowered weapons, not just powerful ones...

The weapons are released in "Weapon Packs", which a new one was just released of.

The update will be to the game itself I believe. Did you check out the newsletter?

I know they come in packs but when you got deluxe you got more weapons but getting um in packs is fine with me :P

I actually think that Pocket Tanks doesn't need any more über weapons. There should be more "utility" weapons, as in weapons that have more strategic value then "shoot somewhere in the region of the enemy to score huge points".
