Do you think that Mike has spent more time on Pocket Tanks than Super DX-Ball? I mean Super DX-Ball hasn't had an update since 11-8-04 and Pocket Tanks has had 2 updates in less than a year! Neon Wars has been around since 10-30-06 so it really doesn't matter if it hasn't had an update. I don't mind that Pocket Tanks has had 2 updates in less than a year, but it seems ridiculous to have 2 updates in such a short time than working on an update for Super DX-Ball that hasn't had an update for over 2 years.

If I remember correctly, the next thing there is supposed to be is a DX-Ball update.

It took me 11 months to create the the first release of Pocket Tanks. That included 60 weapons and two separate versions of the game... shareware and deluxe.

Super DX-Ball was in development for 2 years, and that included all the new boards plus the 2 separate versions.

If you were to add up all the time I spend making the 1.1 and 1.2 updates for Pocket Tanks, that would add up to about another 6 to 8 months of development time. If you throw in the time I've spent 'trying' to add network play to Pocket Tanks, that would probably be another 4 to 6 months of coding. (that is just an estimate, since I hate thinking about the how much time was lost on the network code) :)

Roughly...
Pocket Tanks = ~2 years
Super DX-Ball = ~2 years

If you throw in the expansion packs, the numbers look more like this:
Pocket Tanks = ~3.0 years
Super DX-Ball = ~2.2 years

Moving forward... network play is seeing some great progress and I have plenty of updates for Pocket Tanks planned. But to bring balance to the force, I hope to get the opportunity to update Super DX-Ball and make some expansions in the next few months.

And then there is the 'new' game that we are designing now. ;)
(time flies when you enjoy what you do!)

What about Neon Wars? But I'm surprised that it took that long to create Pocket Tanks, but I guess it makes sense since BlitWise compared to other companies doesn't have a lot of people coding. But you don't have to have a lot of people to make a great game. :)

Mike, could you give us blitters an idea of the kind of game you're going to make?

I'd like to think that sounds like a "Pocket Tanks: OMEGA" or something like that.

"Pocket Tanks: rise of the Earth Mover"

I dunno. Is Mike going to ask for title ideas...?

I dont particularly care if mike spends more time on PT. He should It's
a much better game. DX-ball is great to but not like PT.
